General:
All of the Light Miniature Aircraft Manuals, for all our planes, are approximately 200 pages. Each manual has step-by-step instructions, for each section of the plane, as well as figures, drawings and full size templates to guide the builder through the building process. Each manual also comes with a complete set of full size plans for the fuselage and tail feathers as well as full size templates for the wing ribs, landing gear and items such as the wind shield. Our builders simply lay out the drawings and start building. No need for time consuming re-scaling (like most kit planes) or expensive machinery.

All of our wooden planes are constructed in the same manner so identifying, or relating, to other builders, about building issues, is quite easy. The "LMA Builders Group" at over 500 members, is always available to lend informative feed back and, combined with our web site, makes building our planes an interactive experience. Light Miniature Aircraft has strived, for nearly 25 years now, to bond builder to builder and builder to us. This positive attitude, and nearly 24 hour support, has greatly improved morale & confidence amongst even the most novice of our builders. You’re never alone, or far from help, when building one of our planes.

Plans and manuals are still available for our metal planes, however, due to rising aluminum costs and availability problems, beyond our control, we no longer supply kits for the air frames of the metal planes. Some partial kits, for items like the controls or landing gear are still available.

Kit Planes

General:
We’re pleased to announce that Light Miniature Aircraft and Wicks Aircraft Supply have joined forces to bring you the best quality products for the most reasonable prices available. Our kits will be supplied as a raw stock/milled stock kit, direct from Wicks, and will contain the finest of materials for constructing one of our planes. Although Wicks currently supplies about 95% of the items needed, to build one of our planes, there are some items they don’t supply. These items are listed in the “Exclusions” section following the price sheet along with a suppliers name for those items.

You may notice that the Kit Prices are virtually identical. Don’t be misled, by this, as the designs are quite different, though not apparent in raw stock form. We went to great lengths to achieve this to simplify production, of these kits, and thus reduce production costs. These savings are then passed along to you. We, most certainly, don’t think you'll mind saving a few bucks!


What's included in a Partial Kit? We thought you might ask that. If you will kindly open your manual you will notice it is broken into sections (i.e. fuselage, wing, etc). In these sections there are parts/materials pages which have the raw stock, milled stock, etc. listed. The items, on those pages, are the items in the partial kits for that particular section, of the plane. However, as we said before, there are some exclusions (see Exclusions).

Note: Regardless of the plane, you're building, all items may be ordered individually, from Wicks, giving you the flexibility to get what you need, when you need it. Please be sure to mention Light Miniature Aircraft when ordering your materials.

Please Read Carefully

Due to the constant price changes of raw materials it is virtually impossible to
keep these prices posted accurately. The links below will redirect you to
the page on the Wicks website for each of the corresponding planes. The most
accurate way to pin point your costs is to email or fax the pages, contained
within your manual, to Wicks Aircraft and they will quote you your costs.
Please note that it is not necessary for you to order ALL the materials at
once and a large portion of the materials needed for building your plane are
available on a local basis, this saves money on shipping, etc. This procedure
can be used with all of our wooden planes and most of the parts for our
metal planes (i.e. controls, general hardware, etc).
